Torrey Pines once again plays host the the US Open.
If the 121st US Open is half as exciting as when this majestic course hosted her first one in 2008, when an injured Tiger Woods fended of Rocco Mediate we are in for a treat.
There are so many players who must be feeling good about their chances this week. It would be tough to put some money on it!
My top five picks for the week are a mix of heart, brain and form.
John Rahm is my first pick this is a mix of form and heart!
The untimely Covid-19 positive put paid to what would most likely have been a win at the Memorial. He handled it like a true gentleman. I think many a fan are going to be "Rahmers" this weekend.
Dustin Johnson is my second pick.
He has had an exceptionally slow 2021 and yet remains the world number 1. A miss cut at the PGA I feel will be the fuel in the tank for this week. Brain on this one.
Phil Mickelson is my third pick.
This is the one he wants and has honestly nothing to lose at the age of 51.
The raining PGA Champ is a heart, brain and form pick.
Collin Morikawa is my forth pick.
One of the best swings on the planet, has shown some fine form this season. A solid a pick as you can get this week. Form, form and form!
Garrick Higgo is my fifth and proudly South African pick.
With 8 wins around the globe since 2019 and the most recent just last week on the PGA Tour this is a serious contender. Red hot form and brain pick here.
